Simplifydigital.com welcomes the move to display broadband speeds in property listings
  • Rightmove reportedly plans to add broadband speeds to its property features checklist as an additional selling point*;
  • Broadband providers fear "broadband-based migration"**;
  • Simplifydigital.com offers its views on digital agents displaying broadband speeds as a part of its property checklists;
  • Simplifydigital.com lists a selection of top offers which will get new householders connected.

Although Rightmove have yet to confirm the new feature, industry insiders and broadband providers have welcomed the pending step, saying that "adding broadband performance data to house listings was perhaps long overdue".
Nevertheless, internet service providers have also voiced their concerns that superfast speeds made visible may be an additional contributor to the trend called "broadband-based migration", where people abandon their homes in the countryside seeking a better connection in urban areas.
Chris Mizon, Products Expert at Simplifydigital.com said:
"Staying connected to the internet has become equally important as having gas and electricity.
"Simplifydigital.com eagerly awaits Rightmove's move to list broadband speeds along with other features, as it will no doubt help thousands of property buyers to make an educated choice when investing valuable time and money into the house of their dreams."
