Simplifydigital recruits motivated young jobseekers through Ingeus

We're thrilled to partner with Ingeus, the UK's largest Work Programme provider, and offer hard working & motivated young jobseekers new opportunities. So far we've welcomed aboard 9 new Ingeus recruits, with this number set to grow.

Press release from Ingeus, on our recent partnership:

A Hammersmith technology business has switched on to the benefits of recruiting young, unemployed workers after partnering with Work Programme provider Ingeus.

Simplifydigital is a TV, phone and broadband comparison service, recently ranked one of Europe's fastest growing technology businesses. Currently undertaking its latest recruitment drive, it has employed nine Ingeus clients to date; the majority with support from the Youth Contract. The Youth Contract is a Government initiative to tackle youth unemployment and provides employers with a wage subsidy for 18-24 year old recruits taken on from the Work Programme.

Ingeus is the largest provider of the Work Programme in the UK and has a large pool of motivated young jobseekers ready to start work. Abbas Jeraj, Simplifydigital's Head of People, commented:

We are currently doubling the size of our data processing team and I know Ingeus can provide enthusiastic, talented applicants. Through the partnership we have found mature and hardworking staff who are already progressing in their roles and taking on more responsibility. Ingeus has also helped us access the Youth Contract, enabling us to invest time and training in the young workers we've recruited. There are many career opportunities in our business and we're delighted to work with Ingeus to help these young workers progress.

Two of the promising new recruits are Simone Pouyioukkas from Islington and James Cheetham from Camden. Both are now handling customer service calls in addition to processing nationwide orders, a role which involves accurately inputting confidential customer information to set up new digital services.

James values the help Ingeus gave him in rewriting his CV and switching to a totally new career after previously working in construction. Simone "can't think of a single bad thing" about her new job after struggling to even get responses to many previous job applications. She said:

There is such fierce competition for vacancies that I simply didn't get anywhere, and being out of work was horrible. When I was referred to Ingeus, my advisor booked me daily appointments at the branch to work on my CV, look for roles and practice my interview technique. I went for the interview with Simplifydigital and they phoned and offered me the job by the time I got home! I love the environment here, it's hard work but fun and I feel great earning my own money rather than receiving benefits.

All the successful recruits went through an Apprentice-style pitch with Lauren Bailey, Employer Partnership Coordinator with Ingeus in Wood Green, to assess their suitability prior to being put forward to Simplifydigital. Lauren then arranged all the interviews and handled security checks and benefit paperwork. She will remain in touch with Abbas and the new recruits for up to two years to ensure their employment continues to run smoothly.

Simplifydigital employs 75 people at its Hammersmith HQ and has an Ofcom-accredited, Times Top 10 Money Saving Website: Abbas Jeraj has been working with Ingeus for just three months and is currently recruiting further data processors through the partnership. Ingeus works with jobseekers to prepare and motivate them for the world of work, and with employers to recruit and retain quality staff.
