War and Peace

Showing on BBC One (Started on 3rd Jan)
"Breathtaking" say the Daily Telegraph, "nothing less than a sweeping victory" say the Daily Mail. Already topping ratings and winning rave reviews, War and Peace is set to raise the bar on British costume dramas.

An adaptation of Leo Tolsty's classic novel, War and Peace follows the rise and fall of five aristocratic families in Russia during the peak of the Napoleonic Wars.

Houdini & Doyle

Showing on ITV Encore (Starting spring 2016)
A bold new period crime drama with a supernatural twist. Inspired by two of the greatest characters of the 20th century, the show tells the story of the unlikely real-life friendship between illusionist Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as they grudgingly assist the New Scotland Yard investigate unsolved crimes which are bizarre and inexplicable.

Lucky Man

Showing on Sky1 (Starting 22nd Jan)
Comic book legend Stan Lee has teamed up with Downton Abbey producer to create a "different kind of superhero" series. Based on an original idea from Lee, this British drama stars James Nesbitt as Harry Clayton, a detective from London's notorious Murder Squad, who is given a charm that appears to give him control of luck.

Lucky Man has been described as a very Bond-like thriller. It explores the ideas around luck. What if you could control luck? Would that be the greatest thing in the world, or your worst nightmare?

Showing on Sky Atlantic (Starting 15th Feb)
There is a lot of excitement around this gritty new drama. Taking a ride through the sex, drugs and vintage rock'n'roll of the music business in 1970s New York. Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger's punk drama centres on Richie Finestra (played by Bobby Cannavale), a record-label president trying to save his failing business by any means possible, even if it may destroy his very soul.

Lucifer

Showing on Amazon Prime Instant Video (Starting early 2016)
Based on the "Lucifer Morningstar" character in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman comic book series, this is the latest character from DC's Verigo universe to be made for TV. This deviously entertaining drama follows the life of the devil himself who has grown bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, so he resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for glitzy LA and opens up a lavish upscale piano bar called Lux. He is charming, charismatic and never lies, only telling the literal truth. He is still the devil thou and is utterly selfish, revelling in his power to manipulate people.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Showing on Sky 1 (Starting in Feb)
When heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. This spin-off from Arrow and The Flash feature established players from both series as well as new DC characters. DC's Legends of Tomorrow revolves around time traveller Rip Hunter who assembles a group of heroes and villains to prevent his future from happening. Working together, this group of 'legends' will protect the planet from an immortal threat - Vandal Savage.

X-Files

Showing on Channel 5 (Starting early 2016)
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for a six-episode limited series. The X-Files revival sees our two favourite FBI agents once again teaming up to investigate alien abductions and deep government conspiracies. This new instalment to a pop culture touchstone has a lot to live up to and a legion of fans to please, but the buzz out there sounds promising.

Bordertown

Showing on ITV2 (Starting early 2016)
From the creators of Family Guy comes another satirical adult animated sitcom. It follows two families living in the fictitious desert town of Mexifornia on the United States-Mexico border and how they inevitably cross and are bound by friendship and conflict.

Horror drama

Outcast

Showing on FOX UK (Starting spring 2016)
The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman turns his hand to a new dark horror drama, based on his own comic book series "Outcast".  Patrick Fugit stars as a young man who sets off to discover why he has suffered from supernatural possessions his entire life. As an adult, he seeks answers for his condition, but the answers he finds are much greater than himself. His search is aided by an alcoholic evangelist, who has possession issues of his own.
