After launching its first own brand 4G smartphone earlier in the
month, the Kestrel, EE has announced that it will be
launching more 4G devices on 28th May. The devices, which have been
optimised for EE's 4G network, will be available on pay as you go
(PAYG) and pay monthly plans, for business users and consumers.
They've been named after birds of prey:
- The Buzzard
A superfast in-car device that plugs into your 12v connection and
becomes a 4G WiFi hotspot for up to 10 connections.
- Kite and Osprey
Two new 4G WiFi devices aimed at business and consumer customers,
designed to work as 4G WiFi hotspots
- The Eagle
EE claim that the Eagle is the UK's most affordable 4G tablet, at
£199 on pay as you go, or £49.99 if you sign up to a £15 pay
monthly plan. An Android-powered touchscreen device with a quad
core processor, it is optimised for 4G browsing and streaming on
the EE network.
The devices are free on 24 month plans that cost £15 a month or
more, and will also be available on EE Shared plans.
Alongside the new devices, EE is launching new 4G WiFi plans
with a choice of data allowance. Those who need more than 3GB of
data a month will opt for EE Extra, which offers 15, 25 or 50GB of
data and double 4G speeds. New plans are also being launched
for small businesses, with lower costs on 24 month tarrifs.
