Freeview officially launched on 30 October 2002. Since its launch, the Freeview service has given millions of Brit's access to digital TV without the hassle and cost of paying a monthly subscription fee. With Freeview, you get over 40 digital TV channels, including BBC3, More 4, Film 4 and Dave, as well as digital versions of the old terrestrial channels like BBC1 and ITV. You also get 20+ digital radio stations. Freeview also provides a HD service if you have a compatible HD set-top-box as well as Freeview+ which allows you to pause, record and rewind TV at the touch of a button.
