It seems that BT has recently received top honours by being
referred to as a global telecoms leader by Gartner, technology
analyst.
The research specialist included the telecommunications giant in
its 2011 Magic Quadrants for Pan-European and Global Network
Service Providers, underlining BT's status as an industry

BT has introduced
a new service, Content Connect, which allows Internet Service
Providers to charge companies for delivering content such as
high-speed video.
So far traffic on the net has been treated equally but the
introduction of this service could mean that the competition for

end.

In other recent piracy-related news, the Motion Picture
Association of America (MPA) has demanded that BT Retail would prohibit
access to Newsgroup, a website that indexed Newzbin2, which helped
to find files that were available for illegal download.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) proposed to acquire up to
5.5 per cent of equity shares of Tech Mahindra (M&M) however BT
said that there were certain conditions.
The telecommunications giant currently has 29.9 per cent of

Customers who were keen on fibre-based broadband and signed up
for it via BT might get download speeds as low as 5Mbps, BT
Wholesale has revealed.

Communication giant, BT, is keen to bundle YouView (previously
Canvas) IPTV boxes with its broadband packages (BT Total
Broadband), it has been reported.
