The telecoms giant, which already has quite a few nifty apps out
there for iPads and smarties, (one allows users to record content
even if they are not at home, for example), has revealed that the
next step is to roll out a new app which would allow users to
transform their iPads into remotes for their TVs.
Less reasons to leave the sofa, eh?
Sky said in its latest financial report:
"We plan to enhance the
functionality of the Sky+ app to allow customers to use the iPad as
a remote control for browsing the EPG, managing their Sky+ planner
and selecting programmes to watch, pause, fast forward and
rewind."
As a quick reminder, Sky has also launched Now
TV, its answer to LOVEFiLM and Netflix. It is a pay per
view service where customers simply can watch movies among other
content online.
