Good news comes to the residents of the Isle of
Dogs, as crazily-fast 1Gbps fibre optic broadband is
coming their way, courtesy of the ever-expanding
Hyperoptic.
The internet service provider concentrates mainly on urban
locations. This time Lanterns Court /City Nites was lucky enough to
have FTTB (fibre-to-the-building) installed.
Meanwhile, BT is also concentrating on deploying
superfast broadband to high rise buildings. It hopes to get a batch
of 1,000 skyscraper submissions to rollout its fibre
offering.
Coming back to Hyperoptic, its Sales Director, Brian
Doherty said:
"The broadband in the area [Canary Wharf/Docklands] has
suffered with Poplar internet Exchange being one of the most
congested Exchanges in the UK.
"This is why our direct fibre approach is such a good match
for City Nites - as it bypasses this congestion and gives the
travellers pure speed and an unparalleled broadband experience,
making their stay even more enjoyable."
It doesn't surprise SimplifyDigital that Hyperoptic is targeting
this area; thirsty for broadband high rise buildings are all around
making Poplar Internet Exchange huff and puff like a locomotive.
FTTP/B is a necessity. We're certainly looking forward to further
rollouts.
