Sky sees triple play growth in Q1

According to Sky's quarterly results, bundling has become very popular as more than 3.2m homes decided to subscribe the provider's "triple play" services.

As a quick reminder, triple play means taking three products from a single supplier (for example broadband, calls and digital TV).

This means that a third of all Sky's customers are currently making significant savings on their monthly bills.

In terms of numbers, in the previous quarter Sky added 212,000 broadband customers to reach a whopping 3.9m, which is much higher growth compared to the previous quarter (166,000).

Jeremy Darroch, Sky's Chief Executive, said:

"I'm delighted that six years on from launch our customers are still responding in record numbers and that our sustained growth means we're now the nation's favourite TV, broadband and home phone provider.

"And the great news is that millions more customers have the opportunity to get a better experience and save money by switching their broadband and talk to Sky."

Meanwhile, Sky continues expanding and it currently reaches 10.5m homes. SimplifyDigital would also like to remind you that the ISP has recently launched its truly unlimited fibre optic broadband, based on BT's FTTC technology.
