Rural North Yorkshire communities get fibre internet

The lucky communities of Blubberhouses, Darley and Appletreewick have already seen wireless transmitters being set up on the on top of the local school. These devices are to provide the villagers with super speedy internet.

Harrogate News reported Carl Les, County Councillor and Head of CNY, as saying:

"The CNY team and partner organisations have worked hard to deliver the funding for the scheme but there is no doubt that we wouldn't be celebrating a broadband connection now without the dedication of our local campaigners David Holland, Sue Welch, Norman Wheat and Adrian Precious.

"I am delighted that their efforts have helped to secure the funding for the scheme."

The great news is that the villagers can expect symmetric speeds (when upload speeds are equal to downloads) between 20Mbps and 50Mbps.

The charges start at £12.99 per month, with business options available for slightly higher charges.
