Good news comes to those who are in the market to find a new broadband and home phone bundle as Plusnet has started offering its Value and Extra packages for free for 6 months.

As a quick reminder, Value gives customers access to speeds of up to 16Mbps as well as a 10GB monthly usage option, whereas Extra is a more generous option, offering a 60GB monthly cap. Both are have unlimited usage options off-peak (aka overnight).

In addition, new customers will be able to take advantage of a free activation (normally customers would pay £25).

Those interested have until the 29th of May to sign up to the services which include 12 month contracts and free all-day-all-night calls to Plusnet's UK based customer services hotline. Customers are also required to take out landline rental services from Plusnet (£9.49 per month if paid year in advance) if they want to grab the promotion.

Unfortunately the ISP's fibre packages are not included into the promotion and those living in rural areas will need to pay more (less competition). For example in Market 1 areas, Plusnet's basic Value deal will cost £12.99 a month rather than £6.49 (a price which urban locations pay).
