According to recent reports, Greenpeace isn't
too keen on the fact that Apple doesn't raise climate change issues
and doesn't talk about going green too much.
Apple has recently announced out-of-this-world
profits despite the fact that it has been involved in ongoing
patent battles with its rivals such as HTC, Samsung and
Motorola.
The go-green organisation issued its latest Cool IT Leaderboard
report which looked at the contributions from tech giants to
climate change policies and addressing their own green
challenges.
Apple has reportedly did not do nearly enough to even be
included in the report. Facebook too was nowhere
to be seen either, however, the body said that it recently started
coming up with more environmental strategies.
The organisation commented:
"It has not demonstrated leadership or elected to pursue
market opportunities to drive IT energy solutions that many of its
competitors have, despite record profits and large cash
reserves."
Google, as a contrast, has managed to be included in the top of
the charts seen as it heavily invested in an array of green
projects, including a clean energy policy in the US as well as
helping the European Commission to put together slightly more
ambitious climate change targets.
Other tech firms that according to Greenpeace are keen on going
green is Cisco as well as Fujitsu
and Ericsson.
