It seems that if you have streamed a film or two on Netflix, you
are also most likely a Virgin Media user, as
recent stats revealed that almost a third of all
traffic to the video streaming website came from the
provider's customers.
Following in Virgin Media's footsteps was BT
with a substantial 21 per cent traffic rate as well as
Sky with 19 per cent.
As a quick reminder, Netflix launched in the UK
only a week ago and it has been keeping both the industry and
consumers talking about its services as these are free to try for a
month and there is no binding contract either.
Subscription fees start at only £5.99 per month which gives
customers access to unlimited movie, TV show and programme
streaming on internet-enabled devices such as computers,
smartphones and tablets, among others.
According to the reports, TalkTalk users tuned
into Netflix scoring it 13 per cent traffic, with
O2 customers also trying out the service providing
the website with 6 per cent.
SimplifyDigital has gathered that the service doesn't have
content which would make it stand out drastically, giving consumers
access to some oldies but goodies rather than mould breaking
exclusives.
It's only fair to remember that Netflix is still a
newbie to the UK market but the industry seems to have its
eyes on the service.
