Good news is coming to Sky customers, as the
giant has announced a whole array of improvements that it has made
and is going to make to its Sky Anytime+
product.
Sky is planning to expand the number of the programmes it offers on
its VoD (video-on-demand) service, as it has
underlined that it saw the product grow rapidly.
Sky Anytime+ is now available to over a million of UK homes (1.2m
to be exact) and saw its usage boost by 80 per cent ever since last
December.
Customers already have access not only to Sky's own channel
offering but also to other favourites such as MTV, Discovery, FX,
UK TV, History, Disney, as well as the National Geographic
Channel.
In addition, Sky has penned a few papers with BBC and ITV for its
customers to enjoy even more content.
This means that ITV and BBC shows such as Lewis, Cold Feet and
Doctor Who, Outnumbered and Top Gear will be available to Sky's
customers as soon as tomorrow.
Jeremy Darroch, Sky's Chief Executive, commented
on the expansion:
"We already know how popular Sky+ is and how it puts customers
back in charge of their TV viewing. Anytime+ builds on that
control and it's no wonder we've seen such strong demand for
it.
"Sky Anytime+ will go from strength to strength in 2012 and we
are delighted that the addition of the BBC iPlayer and ITV Player
will allow customers to also enjoy the best of terrestrial TV,
whenever they want."
