Yesterday marked the launch of Virgin Media's
much anticipated Spotify app.
The app, which is available to all Virgin Media TiVo customers,
allows Spotify Premium subscribers to access their entire library
of music, including favourite playlists and songs through Virgin
Media's TiVo service using their home entertainment systems and
HDTVs.
The app is available to users in the Apps and Games
section of the TiVo interface and requires a broadband
connection.
The addition of the Spotify app gives Virgin Media customers an
even greater range of choice when it comes to home entertainment
and on demand services.
The app allows you to browse and stream your music easily using
the TiVo remote control. Virgin Media is exclusively the only
digital entertainment provider in the UK to offer the Spotify music
service across multiple platforms.
Virgin Media's executive director of digital entertainment,
Cindy Rose, said:
"The world of digital entertainment is continually changing
and we're always looking at ways we can bring our customers the
best entertainment for their whole families. Our goal to deliver a
truly unique experience for our customers and we're really excited
about bringing Spotify to our TiVo service as part of our ongoing
initiatives to develop the platform further with new features,
applications and content."
Andreas Liffgarden, Global Head of Telecom
Business Development for Spotify, added:
"Since we like our users to enjoy the world's best music
under the best possible conditions, it made perfect sense for us to
develop this great Spotify app for Virgin Media TiVo."
The move emphasises the versatility of Virgin Media's TiVo
service as a flexible source of home entertainment as the company
continually looks to provide a complete entertainment experience
for customers as they bid to compete with satellite provider
Sky.
