According to recent reports, Sky is looking into a launch of a new electronic programme guide, also known as an EPG.

The giant satellite broadcaster plans to do this as a part of its HD channel usage promotion.

Broadcast has reported that the innovative guide is to bring out a so-called 'HD Swap Bouquet' apace with its 'Standard Bouquet' of channels.

In other words, the platform, which is due to see the light of day on February 1, 2011, will allow customers to swap HD channels with their SD versions and move up the earlier-mentioned EPG.

This will also help subscribers to always be aware what channels can be viewed in HD in order to take full advantage of Sky+HD.

To illustrate this, imagine Sky1 HD moving from the 170th position to the 106th (the current location of the SD version of the channel) on the electronic programme guide.

To take advantage of the HD Swap Bouquet function, customers will have to subscribe to at least one HD channel or contact Sky.
