Virgin Media notice rise in businesses using social sites

Broadband, home phone, digital TV and mobile broadband provider Virgin Media has recently stated that there is a major increase in the amount of UK businesses using 'micro blogging' sites such as Twitter to communicate with their customer base.

Virgin Media Business carried out a survey which found that around 33% of corporate users were communicating with customers via Twitter, which just eclipsed Facebook who had 32% of corporate users communicating with customers via the social networking site.

Virgin Media claim that the advancements in broadband technology have helped the likes of Facebook and Twitter prosper with small to large UK businesses also cashing in on their success.
