Broadband, home phone and digital TV provider Sky has gone one up against ITV in their
Champions League coverage battle after they were asked to provide
the host broadcast feed for the final at Wembley Stadium.
It was expected that ITV would be trusted with the production
for the game on May 28. However, TEAM Marketing, agents of UEFA,
opted for Sky, who stepped in to oversee coverage from Greece,
Turkey and Russia for recent finals.
Simplifydigital
believe ITV's recent poor coverage would've had a major impact on
UEFA's decision. Most recently their HD coverage of England's
opening World Cup game went to an ad break right before Steven
Gerrard's opener.
