Another week, another complaint about the on demand TV venture that is Project Canvas.

In what appears to be the third official complaint to Ofcom a group that calls themselves 'United For Local TV' has complained to Ofcom that:

  • Fees are charged that are "unrelated to a service provider's ability to pay".
  • Their channels would be hard to find on the EPG.
  • The JV members may exploit viewer data "for commercial advantage"
  • Canvas could "prevent viewers from obtaining any streamed services on the open internet from TV channels who are unwilling or unable to meet the access terms"

The other two 'official' complaints have come from Virgin Media and Six TV, a group which is actually part of United For Local TV.

Despite the numerous complaints or pleas for investigation there have been no comments from Ofcom or Project Canvas.
