Broadband, home phone and digital TV provider BT has launched a WiFi application for iPhone and Android phone users today.

The app gives BT customers access to thousands of BT FON WiFi hot-spots

Because access is unlimited and free for BT Total Broadband customers, this prevents them racking up extra costs on their mobile phone bill. BT FON and BT Openzone currently has 1.6m Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide.

John Petter, managing director for BT Retail Consumer, said...

"This represents real value to our customers at a time when more and more people are using their mobile phone to access the internet."

iPhone owners can download the app from the iTunes app store whilst Android users can download the app from the Android Market.
