Broadband customers who currently subscribe with broadband provider TalkTalk will receive free broadband speed upgrades, the company has revealed.

Over the next four months, the TalkTalk wants broadband customers to improve the online experience, and allow people to benefit from greater broadband download speeds.

As a result, broadband subscribers will be upgraded to a 24Mb broadband speed profile free of charge.

TalkTalk's Tristia Clarke said the company was aware of the frustrations that people experience when they are unable to watch videos or open up web pages via a slow broadband connectoin.

She added that the TalkTalk has "invested in our network to remove all backhaul congestion".

TalkTalk, which enjoys coverage in 85% of the nation, is currently investing £500 million on improving its broadband network infrastructure to increase its coverage.
