Orange saw its European digital TV subscriber base reach 3.217 million by the end of 2009, up 53% on the previous year.
Orange TV saw 47% more customers in France subscribe to the digital TV service by the end of 2009.
Meanwhile, the number of people using its sport and films service has jumped from 130,000 in 2008 to 633,000.
And the number of consumers using its on-demand TV services has increased by 67% to 8.5 million.
Orange does not offer a digital TV service in the UK, but is a major player in the mobile broadband and home broadband markets, as well as its traditional mobile phone heartland.
The digital TV market is led by Sky and Virgin Media in the UK. BT is gaining ground with BT Vision and TalkTalk is likely to enter the digital TV market later in 2010, in order to be able to offer a "triple play" digital TV, broadband and home phone package.
