Simplifydigital takes a look at some of the cheapest broadband deals around at the moment.

Cheap broadband is available from many broadband providers. There are lots of ways you can save money and get a great broadband deal for less. Let's take a look at some options for cheap broadband.

Finding cheap broadband

If you have decided on the main features you want your broadband package to include then the easiest way to find the cheapest broadband deal is to compare broadband deals on Simplifydigital. You can see the cheapest broadband from many broadband providers in a handy comparison table.

If you buy cheap broadband you get cheap broadband

When you are looking for the cheapest broadband don't just think of the overall cost of the broadband package, make sure you are not only getting the cheapest broadband, but the best broadband deal with what you need. Don't buy a broadband package just because its cheap broadband, if it doesn't come with what you want from a broadband package then it's not worth having.
So for example, if you want to have unlimited broadband with free equipment such as a wireless router, go for the cheapest unlimited broadband deal that comes with the equipment you want.

Don't believe everything you read about cheap broadband

Just because the advert says "cheap broadband" and "the best broadband deal ever" it doesn't mean that it is. You need to look at what broadband providers include with their cheap broadband packages.
You may even find there are hidden charges and that your cheap broadband isn't that cheap at all.

Switch broadband providers and save money

If you find that your chosen broadband package is not what you really wanted, or you find the broadband speed is too slow for what you want to do, you may be better off switching your broadband provider.

It's not always straight forward though; many broadband providers will charge you a transfer or service fee. If you are still in contract BT Broadband will charge up to £70 if you decide to leave their broadband service and switch to another broadband provider.

You may not know when or if you are going to move house at the time you sign the broadband providers contract, but if you do think that you might move house in a few months then it might save you money if you decide to go with a pay monthly contract instead of signing up to a 12 or 18 month contract with your broadband provider.

Switching can save money, and if you decide to take a broadband bundle offer from broadband providers like Virgin Media, you may find that by adding in extra services to your broadband package you will save more.

Bundle up and you could save money on your broadband

If you want more than just a broadband connection and you want digital TV and home phone services as well, you may think you would not be able to combine cheap broadband with all these services. Thankfully that's not true. In fact you could actually save money by signing up to a broadband bundle deal from a broadband provider. Another benefit is that as well as broadband, the digital TV and home phone services you use will all be provided by the same company. This makes paying bills easier and cheaper.

The cheapest broadband of all - free broadband!

Now this must be the best kind of cheap broadband - free broadband! Believe it or not, it is actually possible to get free broadband from broadband providers these days. Sky Broadband has one of the best free broadband deals around. Sky Broadband offers free broadband with Sky Talk home phone providing you also subscribe to one of their digital TV packages. With up to 2Mbps download speed and a 2GB usage allowance, it might not be the best broadband deal for everyone, but for normal internet use it would be fine. Of course the best thing is that as well as a decent broadband connection you also enjoy Sky Digital's TV channels.
