Simplify Digital Ltd creates, operates and owns a variety of proprietary technology used to deliver our online and call centre-based comparison service.  This capability forms the basis of our growing technology and software licensing businesses.  This covers two broad areas:

1. Whitelabel broadband, digital TV and home phone comparison services

We specialise in the provision of whitelabel digital TV, broadband and home phone comparison services for third party clients. Our technology infrastructure allows us to quickly and easily build and host both bespoke and "off the shelf" whitelabel solutions for our partners.

All the whitelabel sites benefit from:

  • our unique "smartsearch" technology which allows users to match the best deal (from over 6,000 deals on the deal database) to their own unique requirements
  • Our Ofcom accreditation to ensure that the "deal engine" is accurate, comprehensive, transparent and accessible - i.e. that it shows the whole market and is completely impartial in the way it returns results
  • The huge advantage of the inclusion of the unique Simplifydigital telesales support. All whitelabel solutions are provided with bespoke phone numbers for users to call our experts, if they need help transacting. Our call centre agents are trained to answer calls with partner greetings - such as "Welcome to the Guardian Digital Comparison service" - and they greatly increase overall sales conversion. As a result we are confident that our whitelabel service delivers industry leading sales conversion; and
  • Limited or no upfront cost and attractive commercial terms based on a commission per sale As the name suggests, the bespoke solutions are tailored to the exact requirements of the partner and the front end (user interface) is often designed by the third party.

Our "vanilla" whitelabel solution is suitable for most clients and is built for rapid plug and play release on any site (we guarantee a one working week turnaround, from contract signing to live).

2. Call centre "objection handling" software

We have created a version of our recommendation engine for use in service provider call centres and in-store point of sale installations.

The SimSys "Comp App" is a web-based application that can be provided to a large number of concurrently active users. The software allows sales and retention agents to select the package that the customer is currently on (or is interested in) and compare it with competing packages on the market. The software provides on-screen flags to show at a glance where competing packages are better or worse than the package under discussion, both in terms of price and product features.

Comp App offers the opportunity for service providers to empower all agents with "total market knowledge" and the ability to:

  • simply compare any pruduct to the equivalent products from every other significant competitor on the market
  • expose the limitations of competing products relative to the package in question
  • dismiss competitor packages that are unavailable at the customer's postcode
  • summarise the sales pitch in terms of key selling points, versus competitor packages' "key drawbacks"
  • create agent dialogue. The app lets agents pool market intel, customer feedback and closing tips

The application can therefore contribute very significantly to call centre performance through:

  • increased agent confidence (all sites, all levels of competence) and ensure right-selling through improved sales accuracy
  • Improved objection handling and sales/retention closing to deliver a material improvement in sales conversion
  • Reduced use of closing incentives
  • Improved upsale of triple play to new and existing customers
  • Empowering agents to move quickly between attraction, upsale and retention
  • Reduced call handling times through quicker, informed respones
  • Contribution to customer and staff satisfaction

The software is fully customizable by the client and the individual call centre agent. It shows detailed information on every relevant digital TV, broadband and home phone package on the UK market. The product information available is highly detailed and includes for example:

  • Pricing (including special offers, upfront costs and ongoing costs)
  • TV channels included
  • Specification of the set top box
  • Broadband speed, download limit, technical support availability and cost; UK call centres, security features, parental control features etc
  • Call costs to UK landlines, mobiles and all international destinations.

The call centre software is accessed via a secure web connection and is licensed on a per-concurrent user basis. The UI is customisable to each client's exact requirements.
