SimplifyDigital is here to guide you through the minefield that is today’s broadband market.
We can help you find the best broadband deals from the UK’s leading providers – Sky, BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and many more.
Our research shows that more than 80 per cent of TV, home phone and broadband package customers who call us are able to save themselves hundreds.
Here are four tips to get you well on your way to finding the right broadband deal.
Include the cost of line rental when you’re working out the cost of your current broadband package.
Broadband providers commonly quote a headline price without the line rental price factored in. This will make a huge difference to the actual price you pay.
Choose a broadband deal with the right download limit for you.
Usage or download limits refer to the amount of data that whizzes through your broadband connection when you are online. Streaming TV online (for example with the BBC’s iPlayer service) will require a lot of data, as will downloading movies and MP3s.
If you’re a heavy user, think about going for one of the unlimited download packages. This way you won’t be caught out by a nasty surcharge if you exceed your usage limits.
If you are a light user – simply going online to check your email and surf the net – you will likely require a
broadband deal with a relatively low download limit; up to 10GB should suffice.
Bundle away!
One of the best ways to save on internet costs is to bundle your broadband with other services.
Numerous internet service providers offer the following bundles:
Broadband and mobile;
Broadband and home phone;
Broadband and digital TV and home phone.
The last of the three – the so-called ‘triple play’ bundles – will give you the biggest savings of them all.
