The UK has just begun the digital switchover timetable, switching off the traditional analogue systems in favour of digital TV. Therefore if you want to continue to watch TV, you will need to make sure your TV can receive a digital signal. There are many options for this, from buying a Freeview box, through to getting a satellite or cable TV service. Many new flat-screen TVs even have Freeview built-in!
Pretty soon we are all going to have to have digital TV (on every TV set in the house). This is because the Government has already started switching off the analogue TV signal in certain regions which means that old analogue TV sets will no longer work. Analogue TV will be turned off completely by 2012.
